«> . ST. PATRICK'S DAY BANQUET. SPEECH BY LORD DUDLEY. Received MELBOURNE, March 18. At a banquet held in this city last evening, in honour of St. Patrick's Day, a speech was delivered by the Earl of Dudley, Governor-General of Australia. His Excellency made reference to his term of office as Lord-Lieutenant of Ireland—from 1902 to 1905—and said he was convinced that the great majority of the peoule of Ireland were at heart as loyal as any other people in the King's'dominions.
