STOCK MARKET.
Messrs Abraham and Williams, Ltd., report as follows on their Masterton stock sale held yesterday :—A yarding of seven thousand sheep, mostly ewes, was submitted to a fair attendance of buyers. Prices for aged ewes showed a rise on recent sales. Bidding for two and four-tooth ewes, lambs, and wethers, was, however, animated, all sheep uf these classes selling freely at full rates. Very few cattle were yarded. We quote:-—Sheep: Best two-tooth ewes 14s 9d, others 13s to 14s sd, small two-tooth ewes lis 9d,four and six-tooth ewes good, 13s 3d to 14s 9d, four-year-old ewes 13s, 12s down to 10s 6d for good sorts, inferior ewes 7s to Ss, culls 4s 9d, lambs, best 9s 7d, others 8s to 8s Bd, two-tooth wethers, good 12s, small limbs 7s lid. Cattle: Fat and forward cows £3 17s 6d, young steers £2 2s to £2 ss, bullocks £5 10s. Rams: Romney rams I to Lincoln rams 1 to 2gns, Border Leicester rams £ to ljgns, Shropshire rams 1 to 4gns. Pigs: Weaners 7s to 7s 6d.
