Mr Kingsford, upon whose life an attempt was made at Muzafferpore on May 2nd last, did not open the book, believing it *to have been a book he had lent to a friend, until the springs had rusted, which rendered the explosive harmless. The bomb found in the office of the newspaper "Englishman" was obtained froui a Government factory.
