MURDER AND PILLAGE.
OUTRAGES BY PERSIaNS. VILLAGES BURNED. WOMEN AND CHILDREN SHOT. Received March 16, 9 a.m. ST. PETERSBURG, March 15. The journal "Novoe Vremya" reports that a thousand Persian horsemen and 500 tribesmen are marching along the Persian bank of the river Araxes (dividing for the greater part of its length the territories of Russia and Persia), towards Julfa. They have pillaged and burnt ten villages and massacred the inhabitants. *
Many women carrying children on their backs were shot while attempting to swim the river to the Russian bank.
