LONDON MEAT MARKET.
The British-New Zealand Meat and Produce Company, Ltd.,Christchurch, have received the following cable from London:—The mutton market is decidedly weaker; tendency downwards. Prime Canterbury wethers and maiden ewes, light, 3gd per lb; medium, 31d per lb; heavy, 3d per lb; North Island, 3Jd. The lamb market is depressed; trade slow. Prime Canterbury 28 to 361bs, 5Jd, 36 to 42 lbs, sd; North Island lamb, 4f|d per lb. New Zealand beef is dull of sale at low prices owing to large supplies from Argentine and other sources. Prime ox quarters, weighing 1801bs to 2201b5, hind, 2s Id per stone of 81bs; fore, Is 7£d.
