AUCKLAND FIRE BRIGADES' DEMONSTRATION.

By Telegraph—Press Association. AUCKLAND, March 12. The United Fire Brigades' annual demonstration was continued to-day, in showery weather. Dunedin South, in a rin-off in the two men coupling event, broke the New Zealand record of 32 2-ssec, their time being 31 4-ssec. In the five men Hose and Hydrant and Union event, Fitzroy also established a new record for the event by doing it in the smart time of 29 3-ssec. The following are the results of the events completed:— Coupling Event, two men. —Timara, 34 2-ssec, 1; Wanganui, 34 4-5 sec, 2; Dannevirke, 35sec, 3; Masterton, 35 l-ssec, 4. Eastown Railway and Dunedin South were dead heat for fifth place in 35 4-ssec. In the run off for Shield points, Eastown Railway ran in "with 35 2-ssec, and Dunedin South in 31 4-ssec. Hose, Hydrant, and Union, five men.—Fiizroy, 29 3-ssec, 1; Wanganui. 31 2-ssec, 2; Dunedin South, 31 3-ssec, 3; Eastown Railway and Hillside Railway, 32sec, dead heat, 4. Eastown won the run off. Masterton, 32 l-ssec, was sixth. Hose and Hydrant, 3 men.—Caversham, 21 l-ssec, 1; Dunedin South and Napier 21 3-ssec, dead heat, 2; Hillside Railway, 23 l-ssec, 4. Auckland City and Lyttelton, 23 2-5 sec, were dead heat for fifth place. Dunedin South beat Napier in the run off for second place. Ladder Race, one man.—Auckland City, Bsec, and Masterton, Bsec, dead heat for first place, to be run off tomorrow. Eltham, Dunedin City, Ashburton, Greymouth, Wanganui and Spit, 8 l-ssec, dead neat, to iun off tor third and fourth places to-mor-row. The points for the shields being competed for by the Brigades at the Fire Brigades' Demonstration are: — Speight Shield, for Manual Events, completed.— Napier, 21 points, 1; Timaru, 15 points, 2; Hawera, 14 points, 3; Hastings, 8 points. 4; Asnburton and Geraldine, 4 points each. Manual Shield.—The following are the leading teams.—Timaru, 23 points; Napier, 21 points; Hawera, 14 points. High Pressure Shield.—Masterton are leading with 26 points, Auckland, City are second with 17 points. Sfld Fitzroy and Dunedin SoutJ, equal for third place with 16 each,
