MASTERTON HOMING PIGEON CLUB.

INTERESTING RACE FROM DANNEVIRKE. An interesting interval race was held yesterday by the Mtsterton Homing Pigeon Club. .Nine birds,, representing as many lofts, were sent to Dannevirke under the charge of Mr J. Syverston, who liberated them at intervals of fifteen minutes. Punctually at 11.30 a.m. the first pigeon was sent on his homeward journey, and the others followed at their respective times, the last bird b2ing liberated at 1.30 p.m. The winner was Mr W. Hoar's "Sky Scraper," which accomplished the distance of 58 miles in lhr 13min. Th.3 second bird, Mr J. Bradbury's "Apologue," which was liberated 1 hr 15min later than "Sky Scraper," took lhr lfijmin to do the journey, the time taken being ljmin longer. The times of the third and fourth birds, Mr H. M. Wilton's "Revenue," lhr 18min, and Mr H. W. Lett's "Ironsides," lhr 19min. were also very good. Altogether the race has done much to interest members in interval raciig, and the next race, which is to be flown from Or • mondville next Wednesday, will be a similar competition. The following is the detailed result:—
