Association met last evenjng, when there were present—Messrs R. E. Beattie, in the chair, J. Murray, S. Stace, H. Mnnteith, A. Peebles, J.. Bengley, Geo. Peebles, F. Grieves, W. 'McCaffrey, M. Whitehead, C. R. Beattie, R. Charmley and J. S. Nelson. The secretary read a statement of estimated receipts and expenditure, which showed that the' 1909 Show had benefited to the extent of JS2S over last year, and when the outstanding subscriptions are collected the Asscciation will be in a sound position regarding finances. The chairman said that the matter of outstanding members' subscriptions had always been a vexed question in the past, and a good suggestion was put forward by Mr H. Monteith, viz., that the secretary circularise those members who are in arrears, notifying them that they will be pro-

ceeded against by law if their subscriptions are not paid up. The motion was seconded by Mr Murray and carried, it being the unanimous feeling of the meeting that the success of the Association depended mainly on every one of its members making himself financial. The secretary spoke in eulogistic terms of the manner in which the reception committee had carried out their duties, and it was decided to accord these gentlemen (Messrs J. S. Nelson and W. Olliver) the thanks of the Association. Mr C. R. Beattie stated that through an error in compiling the schedule, a special prize of £4 4s, made by the Hawke's Bay Dairy Company for pen of three two-year-olcfheifers, had been omitted. This was a regrettable occurence, but after carefully considering the matter, the Company had now decided to hand over the four guineas towards the prize fund. The Hawke's Bay Dairy Company was accorded a hearty vote of thanks for their offer. The secretary reported that Mr W. H. Nelson, who had been successful in winning a considerable amount of prize money at the last Show, had generously handed the balance .(after donations, etc., had been deducted) over to the prize fund. The thanks of the Association were then accorded to Mr Nelson. Votes of thanks were passed to the secretary, his assistants, and the stewards of the Association.
