MASTERTON COUNTY COUNCIL.
MONTHLY MEETING. The monthly meeting of tne Master ton County Council was held yesterday. There were present:—Crs A. Murray (in the chair), R. F. Beetham, C. C. Kebbell, J. Colquhoun, Jno. Morris, J. Miller and H. O. Toogood. The Eketahuna County Council wrote complaining that their heavy traffic by-laws were being infringed and their roads being cut un by metalling operations in the Masterton County. The clerk stated thar the County Engineer bad attended to the complaint. Mr McGrath, of Kopuarangn, attended the meeting to request some repairs to a short stretch of road between Kopuaranga creamery and the rivpi*, which road needed attention fcadiy. • The Engineer stated that about £6 would be required to accede to the request, and the matter was left to the Engineer and Cr Welch to deal with. An offer from IVr D. Donald to put on four teams to metal Pakaraka Road provided the Council did the same, was accepted. t A matter between the Masterton Borough Council and the County Council in reference to the joining of Cockburn Street and Colomba Road w»s left to Crs Welch and Morris to attend tc. Mr A. H. Wrightson wrote to ask that he be permitted to take water for domestic purposes by means of a ram from the Opaki irrigation race, Drovided such be feasible and the Engineer to the scheme (MrG. Laing-Meason) had no objection to such. The matter was referred to Mr Laing-Meason. A request was received from two settlers on the I'e Ore Ore —Bideford Road to have drains cleaned out on that road. The Engineer was instructed to attend to the matter.
