STOCK MARKET.
The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., report on their weekly stock sale at Eketahuna yesterday as follows:—We had again a full yarding in sheep of all classes, with a large proportion of inferior ewes, consequently bidding was slow under the hammer, the bulk of the business-having to be done privately, and at the close of the sale only two or three small lines remained unsold. In cattle, we offered a full yarding, and good useful steers and forward cows and heifers.met a good market, only a few odd loty of poor class stuff failing to sell, rates all through being about on a par with previous markets. Best ewes made 12s, lis 6d, lis,, others 10s 6d, 10s, 9s, Bs, culls 5s to 7s, wethers 10s 9d;. lambs, medium, 7s, culls 4s to 6s; Lincoln rams 2 guineas; grown steers went up to £5 7s o'd, 2-year 655, 18 months 45s ,to 50s, yearlings 30s, calves 10s,. fat and forward :ows and heifers 60s to 70s, 2 year heifers 40s. Messrs, Abraham and Williams, Ltd., report as follows on their Eketahuna stock sale held yesterday : Stock was yarded in excess of advertised numbers, and we have to report a total clearance. We quot°:— Sheep.—2-tooth ewes 13s Bd, 2-tooth to f.f.m, ewes 126 7d, s.m. ewes 9s 4d to 12s 7d, 4-year ewes lis 9d, 5-year ewes 9s 3d, shorn lambs 6s 3d, 2-tooth wethers 9s 9d. Rams.—Southdowns 2 guineas, Shropshires 1£ guineas. Cattle. —Fat cows £3 17s 6d, empty cows £3, 24-year steers £3 3s 6d." Pigs.—Weaners 10s to 10a (3d.
