A Press Association telegram from Wanganui states that Mr J. B. Murray has been re-elected Chairman of the Wanganui Harbour Board. The "Folding Star" says:—Mrs Morrison, marten of the Masterton Hospital, gnes to Palmerston North on the J Oth inst, to be married to Mr Knight, of Newbury line, near Palmerston ftcrih. The last English mail brought the news to Mrs W. G. Taylor, of Masterton. of the death of her father, Mr W. Freeth, of Chippenham, England. The deceased gentleman was organist of Ht Paul's Church in that town, a position he had held for a great number of years. Evidences of his extreme popularity are shown in the press notices of hie dci.tb and funeral, the county journals devoting columns to describing the la3t ritea and various church references, Mrs Taylor will have the sympathy of 3 large circle of friends in her Joss. The late Mr Freeth left another daughter in New Zealand, who resides in the South Island.
