CARTERTON NEWS.
(Frofh Our Resident Reporter). Thursday. Bro. C. J. De Lacey presided at a meeting of Loyal Heart of Oak Lodge, last evening, when several of the brethren volunteered to take turn about in attending on Bro. D. Thomas, a member of Loyal Britannia Lodge, Wellington, who is seriously ill at his residence, Carterton. It was decided to elect a trustee at the next meeting in place of Bro. J. S. Pepper, resigned. Receipts for the evening amounted to £ll 0s 9d, and disbursements £4. The local fire brigade has given their delegates a free hand to act on all matters that ar3 brought forward at the Auckland Fire Brigades Conference. The Carterton Library Committee has decided to write to Mr Carnegie, to ascertain if he would give the library some technical works for the use of students. A social in aid of the Parkvale j Hall Piano Fund is to be held on Friday week.
