WRECK OF THE FOREST HALL.

ADDITIONAL PARTICULARS

By Telegraph- Press Association. AUCKLAND, March 1. Additional particulars in connection with the wreck of the ship Forest Hall about twenty miles south-east of Cape Maria van Diemen, near Te Aral Bluff, show that the spot where the ship came ashore is a somewhat lonely part of the coast. Residents of Parengarenga, on the east coast, do not seem to have been aware of the wreck until hte in the day. The ship was on her way to Chilian ports from Newcastle loaded with about 3,000 tons of coal, and had been 21 days out from her port of departure. Apparently she had been blown out of her course considerably as she should have passed to the nor.h of the Three Kinqrs. About 9.30 a.m. the vessel went ;-:shore. All on board were able to reach the beach in safety, but there is fear that the heavy seas which come in on the West Coast will break the ship up before any refloating operations can he attempted. The Forest Hall is an iron fullrigged ship of 2,052 tons register, in command of Captain P. A. Logan. Messrs C. G. Dunn and Company, of Liverpool, are the owners. The vessel was built in 18S3. Captain Collins and the first mate of the Forest Hall arrive 1 at Parengarenga on Sunday in a very exhausted condition. The captain returned to the vessel —a twelve miles' journey.
