SEDITION IN SCHOOLS. GOVERNMENT ASSUMES CONTROL. CALCUTTA, February 26. Sir John Prescott Howett, Lieu-tenant-Governor of the united provinces of Agra and Oudh, announced at a durbar at Meerut that, owing to schoolmasters preaching sedition, the Government had assumed control of the district board schools throughout the division.
