A FATAL ACCIDENT.
By Telegraph—Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH, Feb. 28. James Moran, aged 23 years, a painter, died in the hospital this morning as the result of injuries received through falling off the Little River train on Saturday evening. The deceased attended the Kaiapoi Woollen Company's picnic, and during the return journey was sky-lark-ing in the carriages annoying the girls and blackening their faces. The guard put him out of the carriage and locKed both doors. The deceased then clambpred on to the roof of the carriage. He walked along to the other end and then back again, and when attempting to sit down his foot slipped and he was thrown violently to the ground, but clear of the train. He arrived m the hospital in a semiconscious condition. He had two large wounds in the scalp and a fracture of the skull. It was also found that the deceased's lungs were injured.
