A COUNTRY OF EXPERIMENTS.
"We are told," said the Hon. J. A. Millar in a speech at Dunedin on j Tuesday night, "that we are a country of experiments. Quite so. And we are in a position to experiment, for we are not tied down to the vested interests which exist in older countries, and can carry out experiments which they could not. The result of these experiments is that accredited representatives of Governments from all over the world come to New Zealand to study our social legislation: and many of these men who have come to consult me are so satisfied that they are going back to express their satisfaction and invite their Governments to copy the laws which this country is so successfully carry ing out."
