IMPERIAL GOVERNMENT WAITING TO HEAR Taif COMMONWEALTH'S VIEWS. Received February 26, 10.25 p.m. LONDON, February 26. In the House of Commons the Hon. R. McKenna, First Lord of the Admiralty, informed Mr W. Redmond that the foundations of the agreement with the Commonwealth concerning the proponed Australian fleet were laid at the time when the late Commonwealth Government were in office, but no offiicial communication had been received since, and the Imperial Government was waiting to hear the Commonwealth's views.
