SAD FATALITY.

FATHER AND SON DROWNED. By Telegraph—Press Association. AUCKLAND, February 26. Inspector Cullen has received the following telegram from the constable at Papakura:—"A labourer named Alfred Francis and his son, three and a-half years of age, were drowned near Waymouth, yesterday evening, while fishing. The son accidentally fell out of the boat, and the father jumped in to the rescue. Both were drowned before the eyes of Mrs Francis, who was also an occupant jf the boat. A large number of settlers are dragging for the bodies."
