Messrs Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report as follows: One of the most satisTactcry and successful stcck sales that we have conducted in the Maryborough yarc's for some months wjs held yesterday, when we submitted a yarding of 2,238 sheep and 40 head of cattle. Buyers were prpsent in large numbers, and bidding right through was good, and we succeeded in effecting a complete clearance under the hammer of all lines submitted, with the exception of a small lot of lambs and a pen of wethers. Quality of stcck offered was much above the average, this especially feeing the case in regard to ewes. The ewes that we offered on account of Messrs M. and J. McLeod, Whakepuni, were an exceptionally good lot, and most satisfactory prices were obtained for the sheep sold on account of these clients. Wethers were in good demand, and one line of 500 good conditioned, well-grown 2-tooths made lis 6d. Some of the principal s&les were as follows:—On account of Messrs M. and J. McLeod, Whakepuni.— 181 2-tooth ewes 15s, 100 four-year-old ewes 15s 9d, 120 five-year-old ewes 14s sd; 130 sm. ewes 14s. Very few lrambs came forward, the lines offered being inferior. Bidding for cattle was not quite so spirited, but almost every line changed hand?.
