By Telegraph—Press Association. WELLINGTON, February 23. At the Supreme Court to-day, before Mr Justice Cooper and a special jury of twelve, the hearing was concluded of a case in which Daisy Cook, a young woman, claimed £5Ol from Herbert Pearson Rawson, dentist, of Wellington, for bodily injuries alleged to have been inflicted upon her during the course of an operation for the extraction of. a number of teeth. Mr C. P. Skerrett, K.C., with him Mr E. P. Bunny, appeared for defendant, who denied all the allegations rjade by plaintiff. Plaintiff by her statement of claim alleged that defendant so negligently and so unskilfully treated her that a tooth was allowed by defendant to fall into plaintiff's lung, whereby she suffered injury to her health and much pain, and had been put to expense for medical attendance. Plaintiff claimed £5Ol damages. Defendant denied that-he was in any way guilty of negligence or unskilfulness in treating the plaintiff, or that a tooth was allowed by him to fall into plaintiff's lungs. Defendant further denied that plaintiff had incurred any injury to her health as the result of his treatment, or had been put to expense. The j'jry, by eleven to one, found in favour of the defendant, but considered the plaintiff was perfectly bona fide in bringing the action, and decided to make her- a present of their jurors' fees.
