1 I By Telegraph—Press Association. 3 WELLINGTON, February 19. ' The values realised were most satisfactory for crossbreds and finer \ I qualities. The prices of last sale _ were well maintained, and where ' there was a difference it was all in ' the sellers favour. Lambs wool r showed a very satisfactory apprecia--5 tion in value, nright superior wools of this description making an advance of from Id to 1 fed per lb above the prices at last sales. Medium lambs woo! showed an improvement cf l|d per lb. Pieces generally were id per lb better value. Generally the tone of the market was considerably 1 stronger. HIGH PRICES FOR LAMBS WOOL. Messrs Levin and Co., Ltd., report:—At the fourth sale of the current season, held yesterday, there was a large offering of wool for this time of the year, 13,000 bales being catalogued by the Associated Brokers against 2,280 bales at the February sale last year. Our catalcgue reprej sented just over 2,000 bales. There was again a splendid muster of buyI ers. Competition throughout was as brisk as at any sale held this season. For the best crossbred wool available there was very spirited competition. As is usual at this period of the season, the offerings were comprised largely of heavy conditioned late shorn wools, and inferior and back country clips, together with a small proportion of better clip*. The quality was not equal to , that offered in January, therefore the high prices obtainsd then did not rule yesterday, but considering quality with quality, values were qui e up to those of January sale. Met ium, , rough, and inferior crossbreds held \ their own, but pieces and bellies declined £d to Jd. We sold ScVtial nice parcels of lambs' wool at lOd and IOJd, but the bulk of this variety sold at about 7£d. On the whole lambs' wool was from Id to Jd better. thin at January sale.
