NEW ZEALAND COUNCIL,
By TelegraDh—Press Association
CHRISTCHURCH, February 18. The New Zealand Cricket Council decided to-night "that the secretary be requested to communicate direct with the South African cricket authorities and ascertain the terms upon whWi the team which is to visit Australia would extend their tour to New Zealand." It was further decided that the Management Committee should consider the rules governing the Plunket Shield matches with a view to alteration if advisable, the committee to acquaint the Associations with the proposed alterations. It was resolved "that the Management Committee consider the best method of dealing with the net proceeds of the Plunket Shield matches." The mover suggested that the gate money after expenses had been deducted be divided one-third each to the competing Association and one-third to the Council, but this was objected to, and the opinion was expressed that 5 per cent, of the proceeds after deducting expenses would be sufficient for the Council.
