CARTERTON NEWS.

(From Our Resident Reporter). Wednesday. An effort is to be made to revive interest in the local Chamber of Commerce. A meeting of the Chamber will be held on Saturday. The local senior cricket team to play Carlton, at Masterton on Saturday J is as follows: —Beechey, Elliott, Feast, Gallon (2), Hart. Maunsell, Smart, Welch, and Sievers. At a farewell social tendered to him by the Loyal Heart of Oak Lodge, this evening, Bro. J. S. Pepper was presented with a handsome oak tray, having an inscribed silver plate in the centre, as a mark of esteem. The local Rifle Volunteers will commence firing for Mr B. Scannell's trophy at the Belvedere Range to-morrow.

The congregation of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Carterton, are organising a concert for St. Patrick's night.
