HEAVY FINE FOR PERJURY.
By Telegraph—Press Association. AUCKLAND, February 12. An old man, named WiMiam Monaghan, who last session was fined on a charge of having used certain slanderous statements>in respect of John A. Martin, appeared to-day to answer a charge of perjury ariding out of the original case. He was found guilty and recommended m mercy on account of his age, and fined £SO.
