REPUBLIC-FLORIDA COLLISION.

Received February 11, 9 a.m. LONDON, February 10. The real hero of the RepublicFlorida collision was an engine-hand on the Republic. The man, who was up to his neck in water, saved all aboard the steamer by opening a steam escap?.

The White Star liner collided with the Florida in a dense fog off Nantucket. The Florida crashed into the side of the the Republic abreast of the engine-rojm.
