The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., report as follows on their Masterton stock sale yesterday: We offered a yarding in sheep of all classes, bidding at the stirt of the sale was a trifle slow, but improve! as the sale proceeded, Hi?d at the close of the day we had one lot only unsold. The market was somewhat depressed, a fact mainly due to the recent spell of dry weather, and the drop in price of mutton and lamb. Cattle entries were poorly represented, and few sales made. In ( brasding ewes best sorts made lis lOd, others 10s to 10s 6d, medium cJa-;s 7s to Bs, culls 4s 6d, 2-tooth wethers {medium and small) 11b and 10s. In lambs no really good sorts offered in eitner woolly or shorn. Woolly made Bs, culls 5s 6d, shorn 7s to 7s 6d, fat ewes (light) 10s. In cattle 2J-year steers £3 15s, 2 year 45s to 50s, forward cows 40s to 60s, stores 25s to 30s, weaner pigs 10 < to 12s. Missrs Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report as follows on their fortnightly sale at their Mastertoii yards yesterday:—Bidding was nit so brisk as at previous sale, owing to the numbsr of old ewes offered. Sheep and cattle came forward well up to advertised numbers, and we succeeded in effecting practically a tjtal clear- < ance. We qu:ta:—Two tocth v.ttrers 9j Id t> 10s lOd, lanbs to 8s 60, fat and forward ewes 10s 6d, failing j mouth ewes, poor condition, 7s 7d. j Cattle: Fat cows to £3 10s; 1£ to 2 year steers to £2 2s, 2-year heifers to 3ls, 18-month steera £2, 2J-year steers to £2 13s 6d, 3-year steers £3 9'.
