RIGHTS OF THE PEOPLE. A SEVERE STRUGGLE ABOUT TO BEGIN. A MINISTER'S THREATENING REMARKS. Received February 10, 9 a.m. LONDON, February 9. Mr A. Ure, Liberal M.P. for Linlithgowshire, speaking at Cockersmouth, said a severe struggle with the House of Lords was about to begin. He added that by a single clause in a single Act the Liberals would end the Lords' claims, and instantly restore the inalienable rights of the people's representatives.. The Right Hon. R. M'Kenna, First Lord of the Admiralty, and Mr L. Harcourt, First Commissioner of Works, are also threatening the House of Lords on the lines of the late Sir Henry Campbell-Banner-jnan's resolution.
