Messrs D. Buick, M.P., J. Gt Harkness (Wellington), and Aid--worth and Levett have been appointed vice-presidents of the Manawatu' A. and P. Association. An enthusiastic gathering of citizens was held at Gisborne en Tuesday night to do honour to Mr John Townley, who for eighteen years was Mayor of Gisborne. Eugolistic speeches were made, and Mr Townky was presented with a handsom silver rose-bowl weighing 320 ounces^
