CORRESPONDENCE.

(To the Editor). Sir, —Your Pahratua correspondent in to-day's issue declares that there is a movement here amongst the shopkeepers to close next Thursday instead of Wednesday, owing to the "Kilties" visit. As a member of the Holiday Committee here, I asked your correspondent for a list of the shopkeepers interested. Not one name could he mention. As a matter of fact we are sick and tired of changing our half holiday for the benefit of non-shopkeepers, and if any movement does exist it is a movement for keeping Wednesday, and Wednesday only, our half-holiday.—l am, etc., A. S. EVANS. Pahiatua, February 4th, 1909.
