A MOONLIGHT RAID.
ALERT CHINESE GARDENERS
A somewhat sensational incident took place at Akura last evening, when two men were caught in the act of stealing vegetables from a Chinese garden, by the gardeners themselves.
The Chinese, nine in all, heard the men at work in the garden, and set out to capture them. This not accomplished difficulty, •it being alleged that the men, who had horses saddled ready near the garden, hurled stones at tlte Chinese to facilitate tlieif 6scap£. The nr.ea were caught bQtes* taped again. The police were at offefe communicated with, and later two men were arrested by Constable Dunn on suspicion. They will appear at the Police Court this morning.
