PERSONAL.
Mr George Nicol, an erstwhile resident of Masfcarton, and son of Mr John Nicol, of Church Street, is at present spending a few days holiday with his relatives here. Mr Nicol is one of the proprietors of the enterurising journal, the Marlborough "Press," Picton. The death occurred, at Mauriceville on Tuesday last, of Mr Gunder Christiansen. The deceased, who was 74 years of age, arrived in the district over forty years ago. TJbe deceased leaven a wife (sister to Mr H. Aulin, of Eketaluna), a son (living at Mauricevilie), and a daughter (Mrs R. Gyde, Newman) to mourn their loss.
