THE RUSHWORTH MYSTERY.
MELBOURNE, January 30. The head uf the female victim of the Rushworth trazedy has been J found at the bottom of a shaft. The features are unrecognisable. Two bodies were found in a mine at Rushworth in November last. The mine had been closed for four years, and the shaft was the resort of swaizmen. It was believed the persons found were murdered. The bodies • could not have been got where they were found without lifting and baling • out tanks weighing four hundredi weight. It must have taken more than one person to do this. A quan--1 tity of iron rails and other heavy ( debris was also thrown on top of the tank. The male victim was over ; six feet in height, and was strongly built. The frontal none of the skull v was completely smashed.
