GOVERNOR OF SOUTH AUSTRALIA.
PROPOSED REDUCTION OF SALARY. ADELAIDE, January 30. With reference to the suggestion made that the salary of future State Governors should be reduced, the Minister for Lands states that Sir G. R. La Hunte informed him that the Governor could not live and carry out his duties on a lower salary than was paid at present. He refused a year's extension of his term of office because it would mean that on the salary be received he would lose money.
