DOMESTIC SERVICE PROBLEM.
By Telegraph—Press Association. J WANGANUI, January 28.
In conn action with the domestic service problem now prominently before the public, tha "Chronicb" re- j ports, on good authority, that ar-. ****<%ngements are on the point of completion, as a result ot which a New Zealand lady, now resident in Eng- . i land, in whom employers may place implicit confidence, will act, in conjunction with tne management at this end, m selecting suitable girls for employment. Every applicant ' for appointment will be perfo.jally ■.interviewed, and every possibl-• precaution taken to ensure that only girls of high standard of respect- . ability and efficiency are sent out. The 'Chronicle" add 3 that it is intended to place the Government in possession of full information on the subject, it being felt that as • :.the domestic help problem has now been brought officially under the notice of the Minister of the , Crown,'it is only reasonable that Cabinet should be formally assured of ths bona fides of -the. scheme which private enterprise has devised for the solution of that problem.
