PAHIATUA RACES.
SECOND DAY. (Special Reporter). Excellent weather again prevailed for the second day's racing, and there was again a good attendance of the general public. In the first race Snow Star fell at one of the hurdles, and broke his back, dying shortly afterwards. The jockey (A. Watson) escaped with a few outs and bruises. In the third race Cute when entering the straight fell and brought down Awha and Sweet Shot, who were in close proximity, but none of the horses were injured. Considerable interest was taken in the Racing Club Handicap, and after an exciting race Roosevelt won from Tangeroa by the narrowest of margins.
