LABOUR PARTY'S CONFERENCE.
Received January 28, J. 15 p.m. LONDON, January 28. At the Labour Party's Conference : at Portsmouth, at which Mr Keir Hardie, M.E., presided, Mr Philip Snowden, Labour M.P. fur Blackburn, demanded that the cost of ■ dealing with poverty Should rest on unearned incomes. A resolution proposed t)y Mr Ramsay Macdonald opposing increased taxation of the masses, and urging a super tax on large incomes • .and special taxes en State-conferred monopolies and increased estate legacy duties, was carried.
