WOMEN'S CONFERENCE.
"EXTENSION OF STATE FUNCTIONS URGED. Received January 28, 8.25 a.m. LONDON, January 27. A conference of the Women's •Labour League is being held at Portsmouth. Some of the speakers advocated the State making provision for mothers for four months before childbirth and for a year afterwards. •Other speakers advocated the total prohibition of married women working for their living.
