At the Musicians' Conference, a motion to the effect that ma sical examinations in New Zealand conducted by the associated Boards and Trinity College, L>ndon, exercise an infiusTiee for good on teachers and scholars, was lost by a large majority. A motion was passed: "That steps be taken for the preservation of Maori folk songs."
