AMUSEMENTS.

"THE RED MILL." The box plan for the J. C. Williamson's Musical Comedy season at the Town Hall on Friday next was opened at Mips Rive's yesterday. This piece has been the New York success of two consecutive seasons at the Knickerbocker Iheatre. It is credited with an average business of 22,000 dollars a week for 500 nights. The setting and characterisacion are, with the exception of the two Americans responsible for the comic relief, exclusively Dutch. "The Red Mill" has many tuneful numbers in it. "Because You're You," "Every Day is Ladies Day With Me," and "Go While the Going is Good" are all catchy songs. The stranded Americans will be represented by Mr John Ford and Fred Leslie. The latter is well-known to New Zealand audiences for his connection with the Royal Comic Opera Company, and Mr John Ford has played the part that has been assigned to him for some time in America. The cast of the principals will be as follows:—"Con Kidder," Mr John Ford; "Kid Conner," Mr Fred Leslie; "Jan Van Borken" (Burgomaster of Katwylc-aan-Zee), Mr Percy Denton; "Franz " (Sheriff of Katwyk-aan-Zee), Mr Pac Bathurst; "Willem" (Keeper of the Red Mill Inn), Mr Chas. A. Loder; "Captain Doris Van Darara," Mr S. Howard Hall; "The Governor of Zeeland,'g Mr Ed. Sherras; "Joshua Pennefather," Mr A. Lissant; "Gretciien," Miss Marie Eaton: "Bertha."
