ALLEGED UNDERVALUING.
REPORT OF A COMMISSON. MELBOURNE, January 23. The commission appointed to investigate the cases uf alleged undervaluing of goods by manufacturers and importers reports that several cases of undervaluing were proved. In some instances permission to inspect books was refused. Enquiries led to the opinion that undervaluing was more prevalent in regard to importations from the Continent than from the United Kingdom. The commission recommends that the Commonwealth should be represented at the ports of origin in England, France and Germany.
