EKETAHUNA.

(From Our Own Correspondent). MOUNTED RIFLES. The squadron turned out well for the inspection by Col. Beauchop on Wednpsday, only two men being away one on special sick leave, and one had left the district. The squadron did excellent work in nicKet duties, and an attack on the camp. The Colonel, in an address to the corps after the parade, warmly commended the officers for the tactics, and the non-commissioned officers and men for the excellent way that the work was carried out. On Thursday morning the non-com-missioned officers took charge and exercised the troops under Lieuts. Prendeville and Farmer, and Captain Page exercised them in regimental drill. . . The Colonel was very flattering in his remarks, but there is no question that they ware justified. The arrangements are perfect, and all duties are carried out with military promptness and without demur. When the bugle sounds the fall in at 5 a.m. every man is at his post and taking a keen interest in his -work. GENERAL. The Foresters' Sports Committee ■will meet at the Lodge room on Tuesday next to make arrangements for the forthcoming sports meeting. Eighty-four entries have been received by the secretary for the military sports meeting to be held at the camp to-day (Friday). I might mention again that the public are to be admitted and entertained tree of charge. The weather is now perfect, and the harvesting of hay and crops is now in full swing.
