MESSINA EARTHQUAKE.
FURTHER SHOCKS. CLEARING AWAY THE RUINS. "Received January 19, 8.35 a.m. < ROME, January 18. American bluejacket 3 have recovered the bodies oi the United States Consul, Mr Cheney, and,his wife at Messina. Further earthquake shocks at Messina have brought down a number of totteiin* buildings. A GDvanimant commission is deliberating as to the best way of clearing the ruins and throwing them into the sea. It is expected that the work W'U attract number of tjfugSs;3 back to the town. Search is proceeding under the ruins of-the military depots to cover enormjus supplies of cereals and flour.
