TARANAKI TOURNAMENT. By Telegraph—Press Association. NEW PLYMOUTH, January 18. The Taranaki Tennis Tournament wa3 continued to-day in splendid weather during the forenoon, but in the afternoon several showers fell, interfering considerably with play, and making the courts slippery. - The Men's Championship Singles was won by Wilding, in- an uncompleted match against Parker, which was interrupted by the weather. The Men's Championship Doubles fell to H. A. Parker and H. W. Brown, who beat Fisner and Wilding, 6—B, 6—4, 9—7. Miss Nunneley and Wilding beat Miss Powdrell and Fisher for the Combined Championship Doubles. The Men's Handicap Singles went' to L. Jennings, and the Men's Handicap Doubles to Jennings and Caplen, and the Ladies' Handicap Sin ■ gles to Miss Brewster, who defeated Miss Cave, Wanganui. Misses Simpson and Cave'won the Ladies' Handicap Doubles. Owing to the rain it was found impossible to complete the Combined Handicap Doubles. Other winners in the Tournament were:—Ladies' Singles Championship, Miss Nunneley; Ladies' Doubles Championship, Mrs Payne and Miss Nunneley; Second Grade Men's Singles, Frater.
