TOO MUCH RAIN.

By Telegraph—Press Association. DUNEDIN, January 18. There ha* practically three weeks' wet. weather here, only two •days having been fine since Christmas. Reports from the country districts show that'grain is standing up well so far. The prospects for wheat and oats are reasonably good, bud all through • Southland, and in many places between Clinton and Dunedin, J the rye crop is flat and hay is badly Turnips bo far are not much affected. There will be a sarious loss in lambs for export, since the cold is stopping the ewes' milk, hence the lambs are not fattening.
DISCONCERTING FOR FARMERS. By Telegraph—Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH, Jan. 18. The weather is still disconcerting for the farmers. Heavy rain fell again last night, but it is clear now. The rainfall for the month to date is Si in.
