EIGHT FOE THE STANDARD. NO ONE SERIOUSLY INJURED. Received January 11, 10.2 a.m. SYDNEY, January 11. An application was made to admit to bail Tom Mann and the other persons arrested on Saturday, but was refused. Another load of provisions was taken to the mine yesterday. No attempt was made to block it. During Saturday's riot the police captured a flag carried in the procession. The strikers recaptured it, but the police once again got possession of it. Several on both sides were wounded in the scuffle, but none seriously. RIOTERS BEFORE THE COURT. Received January 11, 9.47 p.m. SYDNEY January 11. At the Broken Hill Police Court to-day, Tom Mann and twenty-seven others were charged with unlawfully assembling together and taking part in a riot. They were remanded for a week. Bail was fixed for each at £2OO. The Mayor of Broken Hill went; bail for Mann, and sureties were found for the others. On individual charges of stone-throwing, assaulting the police, and using indecent language all were similarly remanded, bail being fixed at £lO. An immense crowd gathered round the Courtnouse, and through the crush the gates were broken down. The police used their batons to drive the crowd back and restore order. One arrest was made.
