MASTERTON TRUST LANDS TRUSTEES.
MONTHLY MEETING. The monthly meeting of the Masterton Trust Lands Trustees was held last evening. There were present:—Messrs T. R. Michell (Chairman), T. Wagg, D. Caselberg, E. G. Eton, H. C. Robinson, W. H. Jackson, 0. Pragnell, R. Krahagen and C. E. Daniel!. The treasurer reported a credit balance of £239 Os lOd. The Minister of Justice wrote requesting that the resolution of the Trustees re the exchange of sites be sent down at once.—lt was decided to comply with the request. A letter from the Greymouth Harbour Board offering debentures for sale was laid on the table. An invitation was received requesting the presence of the Trustees to the opening of the new chapel at St. Bride's Convent.—The invitation was accepted. The Sanitary Inspector for the Borough wrote drawing attention to a block in a drain at the rear of the Town Hall. A letter was read from Mr R. Brown, suggesting that the Trust purchase the old Technical School building at the rear of the Post Office and utilise the same as a Museum. After discussion a motion moved by Mr Caselberg was passed "that at the present time the Trustees could not see its way to purchase the building." An amendment moved by Mr Eton "that Mr Brown's letter be held over until the Museum exhibits be inspected to ascertain their value and condition" was lost. A motion by Mr Caselberg was then carried "that permission be asked of the Managers of the Technical School to allow the Museum exhibits to be placed in the large room of the old Technical School building. Accounts amounting to £3l lis lOd were passed for payment.
