The newspaper "Nord Deutcher Allgemeiiie Zeitung," in recording the Cape Government's suri'endering or and interning of Hottentot marauders, and the fact that the Cape police shot two chiefs for attempting to escape, remarks that arrrangements between the British authorities and Herr Darnburg, for mutual support in the repression of turbulent border elements is bearing fruit. The significance is that whereas the frontier population believed the raids on, the Germans in south-west Africa met with the approval of the neighbouring territory, this idea is being thoroughly dissipated, which will have a lasting effect on other tribes.
