CORRESPONDENCE.

(To the Editor). Sir, —I have waited for a few days to see i± some of those who were grumbling all round me on the grandstand at the Caledonian sports on New Year's Day about the band playing in a direct line between us and the stage while the Scotch dancing was in progress, would come forward with a protest. The person on. the stage might have been a mechanical figure for all we knew, as we could not hear the pipes. I am no juage of music, but I do not think the band and the pipes go well together, especially when playing different tunes, I would like to hear some cne else give their opinion on the above. — I am, etc., VISITOR. Tinui, January sth, 1909.
