NUMEROUS CASES OF HEAT APOPLEXY. Received January 5, 9.45 a.m. SYDNEY, January 5. At Brewarrina the thermometer registered 123 degrees in the shade. The intense heat has caused severe injury to the fruit crops everywhere. Thousands of pounds worth of stone fruits, grapes, and tomatoes are shrivelled up and destroyed. Numerous cases of heat apoplexy are reported.
