A FIERCE BLIZZARD.
ROUGH WEATHER IN
BRITAIN.
THREE INCHES OF SNOW IN LONDON. SEVERE STORMS IN THE PROVINCES. A TRAIN SNOWED UP. SEVERAL PEKSONS FROZEN TO DEATH. Received December 30, 11.10 p.m. LONDON, December 30. A fierce blizzard continues to rage over Britain. Three inches of snow fall in London, stopping horse and omnibus traffic. Commercial traffic and shopping is almost at a standstill. Rubber-tired motor omnibuses proved extremely useful in the circumstances. Twenty thousand unemployed are engaged at clearing the snow from the streets, but the officials state that it will take a week tj remove the snow already fallen. Exceptionally severe storms have been experienced in the provinces. The dislocation of the railway service, the snowing up of a train, the burying of fiockn of sheep, and the general steppage of work are among the incidents.
Several persons were frozen to death.
